Software Engineer | Linux Sysadmin | Cyber-Security Wiz
Currently, I am working on my BS in CS at Western Governor's University.
My dream career, since my Kindergarten days, has been to be an Astronomer for NASA.
By the time I was 5, I was able to name basic facts about our solar system.
I am a very passionate technologist who values the
Right to Repair our devices
and the reasonable right to be secure in our personal electronic devices (i.e, I am
a privacy advocate).
I was first exposed to programming in 8th grade when professors from the nearby University
of North Alabama educated us as part of a study. At first, I believed that I wasn't smart
enough for the mathematical gymnastics required for programming.
Then in 2016, one of my high school's math teachers nominated me for STEM camp at UNA.
This was a life-changing experience for me because I discovered that I actually enjoyed
writing algorithms more than math itself!
Two of my most valuable character traits are problem-solving and creativity. It takes both of these
skills in order to be able to define the ambiguous systems that software emulates. My superpower,
however, is perseverance. I do not give up or quit, ever.
I am a Linux enthusiast, and proponent of the Free (Libre) and Open Source Software movement. I began
using Linux in 2016. Since then, my knowledge and proficiency within the OS far exceeds that of my
abilities in other OSes. Currently, I run Linux on all my personal computers as well as this website's
VPS powered by Linode.
I love tinkering with my single-board motherboard computers (SBCs), computer hardware, and small
electronic circuits. My first SBC was a Raspberry Pi 3 model B+ that I acquired to program the
Parallax Activity Board WX given to me after STEM Camp. (This was the main reason I started using
Linux too.) My self-built computer uses a Ryzen 7 2700X with a GTX 1080 for the GPU.
Okay, I am not actually a cyber-security wizard, but I do design software and systems with security
at the forefront of my mind. It is my ultimate goal in life to make the world a better place by
designing more secure software and systems. Indeed, this domain supports encryption with
no less than a TLS 1.2 Handshake, HSTS (with preloading), Secure Renegotiation, SSL Stapling,
DNS CAA, and even DNSSEC. Check it out at
One more thing: Why the TLD? I love to read. Fiction novels are, in my opinion, the most delightful
expression of human creativity, ingenuity, and art. They are simply wonderful, just like the
fantastical creatures many of them depict. In 9th grade, I attempted to write a novel of high fantasy,
but ultimately my writing skills were pretty horrible back then. Now, I am a much better writer; and
I even intend to practice over at my personal blog,
